La Vida is a cultural mediation project which aims to reconnect residents of the Vallon Pont d’Arc and Chambonas nursing homes with their memories. A singer, an actor-director, a photographer and a sound designer work hand in hand on this project. Through its workshops, the quartet will create art photos and audio postcards which will then form a travelling exhibition touring residential nursing homes, the Alphonse Daudet Museum and the Les Vans Museum, as well as Pierre & Vacances. The project uses art as a way of accessing memories, forging intergenerational relationships and opening up new creative possibilities between medical and social professionals, home residents, carers and others.

We learnt about this project through the Mécèn’Ardèche fund and were impressed by the way it combines culture, local memories and access to leisure for all. The funding we are providing covers 37% of the technical and artistic costs and 50% of the organisational costs.

Funding: €13,400 in 2018-2019
